WINNIPEG – Six Winnipeg Blue Bombers have been named as CFL West Division All-Stars.
Running back Andrew Harris headlines the list. Harris is also the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian. He rushed for 974 yards and four touchdowns this season. He also had 67 catches for 631 yards and one touchdown. This is his third time being chosen as a division all-star.
Kicker Justin Medlock is a no-brainer choice. He kicked 60 field goals this season, a CFL record. It’s his third all-star nod too.
Offensive lineman Travis Bond is an all-star in his first CFL season. Bond is the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman despite playing only 13 games. He joined the starting lineup in week six.
Safety Maurice Leggett, the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Defensive Player, is also an all-star for the first time. He tied for the league lead in interceptions with teammate T.J. Heath, who is also an all-star. Both players had seven picks. It’s Heath’s first all-star nod.
Rounding out the group is Safety Taylor Loffler. Loffler, a Canadian, is also the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie. He had 58 tackles, four interceptions and four forced fumbles in his first season after being drafted.
Voting for All-Stars is done by The Football Reporters of Canada and the league’s nine head coaches.
