TUCSON, ARIZONA- Tucson Roadrunners captain Craig Cunningham was rushed to hospital after collapsing on the ice shortly before Saturday’s AHL game against the Manitoba Moose in Arizona.
Cunningham suffered the medical emergency following the anthems. Tucson’s radio announcers said during their broadcast that it looked like the 26-year-old Trail, B.C. product had a seizure after collapsing. Paramedics were seen giving Cunningham CPR as they rushed him off the ice on a stretcher to an ambulance. It’s not known when an update on his status will be provided.
Both teams returned to their locker rooms following the incident. A decision was eventually made to postpone the game to a later date.
The Moose were just a few feet away when Cunningham collapsed. A few of the players took to social media to pass their thoughts and prayers to the forward.
