WINNIPEG – Not only are we no longer the murder capital of Canada but Winnipeg has dropped to number four on the list.
That’s according to the latest homicide numbers from Stats Canada.
The list uses statistics from 2015.
Regina has the highest murder rate, followed by Saskatoon, Edmonton and then Winnipeg.
We had 22 homicides last year.
Manitoba has the second highest murder rate amongst the provinces with Saskatchewan topping that list.
Across the country, the homicide rate is up 15 per cent.

About one quarter of all murder victims across the country are aboriginal.
