WINNIPEG – Manitoba RCMP officers are now carrying naloxone kits to deal with the increase in opioid drug use.
The nasal spray is an antidote used to help someone who has come into contact with Fentanyl.
It’s especially important for RCMP to have, because they act as medical first responders in many remote areas.
There have been nine fatal Fentanyl overdoses in our province this year – a situation our health minister has called a “crisis”.
However, not all Winnipeg Police officers carry the antidote with them when they’re out on the streets.
