Winnipeg – As 680 CJOB’s Bob Irving reported during Grey Cup Week in Toronto, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers had new contracts in place for Kicker Justin Medlock and Offensive Lineman Stanley Bryant, even though both players were included on the league’s official list of pending free agents.
As “Knuckles” suggested at the time, it was simply a matter of when the Blue Bombers chose to make it official. And that announcement was made just before the noon hour on Tuesday.
There are still 18 names on the Winnipeg list of pending free agents, including unsigned Quarterback Matt Nichols. And it’s expected GM Kyle Walters will also want to take a run at retaining the likes of Receiver Darvin Adams, Defensive Lineman Euclid Cummings, and Canadian Linebacker Sam Hurl prior to the February 14th deadline.
