WINNIPEG – A woman continues to recover in a Winnipeg hospital after she was hit by a sidewalk snowplow in December.
It happened on December 16 at around 4:40 p.m. on William Avenue, outside the Health Sciences Centre.
Winnipeg Police say the woman in her sixties was using the crosswalk when she was hit by the machine, which was travelling westbound along William.
She suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital in stable condition.
“We know that some of the people who had been in the area and had been driving in the area spoke to fire and paramedic people and some other people didn’t stay,” said Const. Rob Carver. “We’re just hoping we can get those people to contact us.”
Carver said it’s not known if any charges will be laid against the snowplow operator.
