WINNIPEG – Two shootings over the weekend that happened only blocks from each other are being investigated by Winnipeg Police.
Around 1:45 AM Sunday, officers responded to a 30-year-old man who was shot in the hand in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue.
He was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Only 15 minutes later, another man was shot in the hand, this time near Main Street and Dufferin Avenue.
The 25-year-old was also taken to hospital in stable condition.
Constable Tammy Skrabek tells 680 CJOB despite their similarities, these two incidents aren’t connected.
“They are two completely, separate incidents and at this point, there’s nothing to suggest they’re related,” says Skrabek.
Skrabek describes the shootings as “very bizarre” and they appear to be random.
No arrests have been made.
