Damaging Winds Cause Widespread Power Outages
A powerful wind storm blowing through our province left many in the dark Thanksgiving Day. A cold front swept into the region overnight, bringing a strong north-west wind. Environment Canada says the Red River Valley and southern Interlake areas can expect wind gusts up to 100 km/h early Monday afternoon and even stronger gusts to 120 km/h can be expected near Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba.
