E-Smokes Hurting Tobacco Tax Revenue
Manitoba's tobacco tax revenues are on their way down. The province raised the price of a carton by a dollar in last week's budget, but is expecting a 12 per cent drop in tobacco taxes. The blame is being put on people switching from tobacco to electronic cigarettes which are not subject to the tax.
