Children's ER Experiencing High Volume of Sick Kids
CJOB News Team reporting
11/6/2009

Masks are being offered to anyone going to the Children's Emergency right now at the Health Science Centre. The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says the department is experiencing very high volumes of patients...more than half of whom are presenting with an influenza-like illness. As a result...there are long waiting times. Also, hospital administrators are asking the public to restrict any unnecessary visits to admitted patients.

Meanwhile, on the H1N1 immunization front, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority has confirmed Winnipeg clinics will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. They will re-open Thursday under the same criteria.
