Occupy Winnipeg group supports Quebec protests
CJOB News Team reporting
5/31/2012

Winnipeg police reported no major problems  with a group of demonstrators Wednesday night at the Manitoba Legislature.

Between  70 and 100 people,  members  of the Occupy Winnipeg group,    gathered at the  legislature around 8   to show their support for University students in   Quebec.    They were rather  loud  banging pots and pans  as a show of solidarity.
The Quebec students have been protesting against tuition fee increases  for  the past few months and often the protests have turned ugly..

One of the demonstrators had apparently   called police to  let them know  about the protest.

The Occupy group,  dedicated to fighting social and economic inequality,  first appeared last fall.  They set up tents  at Memorial park  and stayed for about two months..
